If you were away from civilization this week, or if you have better things to do than scour the internet all day (and if you do, what the hell is wrong with you? Do you have a life or something?), you probably missed Mitch McConnell’s new campaign video. Prepare yourself. It’s all sorts of awesome.
Part of me wonders if the person responsible for the video isn’t some sort of mad genius. Shooting a wordless two and a half minutes with Mitch McConnell slowly unwrapping that creepy smile for the camera, then cutting to shots of him hugging and talking to other white people? Come on, you’re just begging to be parodied, and Jon Stewart obliged, as did the internet.
We’ve decided to make our own parody here at The Chiefly: a Mitch McConnell music video album. We have just begun to scratch the surface here as literally every song ever recorded seems to be able to weave itself in and out of this video. Here are a few of our favorites.
